Mr. Griffith]] is the husband of Mrs. Griffith and the English teacher of Olive Penderghast, Rhiannon, Anson, Nina, and possibly Marianne Bryant.
He likes to interact with his students, while at the same time treating them like adults. He asks Anson to drop him a beat one day.
He is the favorite teacher of Olive Penderghast. When Olive tells him that his wife, Mrs. Griffith, who is the school guidence counselor, is having an affair with Marianne's boyfriend, Micah, he is very hurt and upset about his wife's wrong-doing.
You can tell early on that his marriage to Mrs. Griffith isn't very good, considering that she's always doing "after school sessions" and making him eat dinner all by himself. He seems like a lonely man, but a happy one (despite his wife) all the same. His name is revealed by his wife at the end of the film, when she tries to talk to him about something, whereupon she calls him "Jack".
